RaggieRun is our first casual game created under the CryptoRaggies brand. We are also very proud of the fact that this is the first NFT-enabled game with a working wallet connection launched on the Cardano blockchain.
The "infinite runner" genre may sound simple, but we have created additional complexity and challenge for RaggieRun players by integrating NFT traits into the game as superpowers. We have also implemented a procedurally generated random dungeon and a boss fight at this early stage of the game's development to create a varied and engaging gaming experience for all!
What is Free2Play?
RaggieRun is a Free2Play game, so there is no upfront cost required to play the game! It is optional to mint a Raggie and play as your NFT in the game. Anyone can enjoy the game even without a Raggie NFT!
When playing without a Raggie NFT, you will get to choose and play with a Raggie supplied by our Raggie NFT holders through staking. By doing so, 5% of your in-game score will be transferred to the owner of the Raggie you're playing with. Your score will also enter into a separate, dedicated F2P leaderboard!

Once upon a time...
Raggie is a sweet ragdoll cat who enjoys playing with plush toys and feather wands. One day, an unknown force pulled the rug from underneath when Raggie was enjoying an afternoon cat nap with all the favourite plush toys, and Raggie fell into a mysterious portal!
What lies beyond the portal is very strange indeed. Raggie transformed into a pixelated being and lost all the precious plush toys in this world! Now, Raggie has to run, find the lost toys, and unravel the mysteries that caused this "glitch" in the first place!
The BlockOwls
In this strange new world, Raggie made some new friends - the BlockOwls.
While finding all the lost toys, Raggie came across glitchy BlockOwls trapped in boxes. With newfound superpowers, Raggie saved as many BlockOwls as felinely possible, gaining the trust and companionship of these new friends!
What's going to happen now... When Raggie meets with the first ever mighty opponent, the Dark Ape? Will the BlockOwls pilot, Loddie, swoop in to lend Raggie a claw?

The Basic Mechanic
At the most basic level, RaggieRun is an "infinite runner" game. The main objective is to survive for as long as possible in the game while picking up point-scoring items and using superpowers to earn additional points.
There is also a boss fight - the first of many to come - in which Raggie could lose points by being hit! However, with a good weapon, Raggie has a very good chance of earning some juicy points back from the boss!
Original Series NFT Traits
RaggieRun is an original NFT-enabled game. Therefore game features can be unlocked with NFT traits. Many of the super rare traits of our Original Series CryptoRaggies NFTs come with corresponding superpowers in the game. Take a look at this NFT for example:

Coins & Toys
As Raggie runs through the strange new world, RaggieCoins and items that Raggie had before will spawn to be collected. If Raggie had no toys or accessories (a.k.a "Nakie"), then only RaggieCoins will spawn.
Collecting a RaggieCoin will earn 1 point, while picking up toys and accessories will earn 2 points. Collecting RaggieCoins and items is the basic means for charging up the RaggieRage and RaggieRush power gauges.
Obstacles
There are two main types of obstacles in the game.
Boxes spawn randomly on the runway and Raggie must jump over them to continue with the run. Some superpowers and summoning skills can destroy these obstacles, earning extra points!
Platforms also spawn randomly. These will shoot a deadly exhaust flame from below, and Raggie must jump onto the platforms to avoid coming to harm! Being burnt by platform exhaust flames will reduce the RaggieRage that has been built up and decimate the RaggieRush bar completely. Running on platforms helps Raggie charge up the RaggieRush power gauge.

Raggie Rage
All point-earning events will build up the RaggieRage power gauge. When filled, Raggie will be able to use superpowers granted by the toys and traits that Raggie has! At the beginning, each full RaggieRage bar grants 1 superpower allowance. As Raggie levels up, this allowance will increase up to a maximum of 3.
If Raggie loses the point-earning momentum and stops collecting points for a period of time, the RaggieRage power gauge will gradually decline...

Raggie Rush
Every time Raggie earns more than 1 point at a time, or when running on a platform, the RaggieRush power gauge will build up.
When the RaggieRush power gauge gets filled, Raggie with plush toys and VIP Plush Toy NFT holders will be able to summon a plush toy to help destroy boxes on the runway and score bonus points!
Original Series Limited Edition Plushies Traits
Plushies are the source of warmth and protection for Raggie!
Holders of our VIP Plush Toy NFTs will be able to use RaggieRush summoning superpowers regardless of which Raggie they use to play the game!
Summoning a Plushie will help Raggie destroy all boxes on the platform, granting 3 points for each box destroyed.

High Score
To prevent players from exploiting unconventional methods of pausing the game to prolong a game session to achieve an unfairly high score, we have now implemented a criteria of a minimum score rate greater than 50 points per minute in order to be eligible for the High Score and Cumulative Score leaderboards.
This score rate requirement has been adjusted down from the previous 100 due to the score rate dilution with the PRED boss fight, the effect of which was not apparent in our initial historical data, but has become increasingly clear.

Score Rate
EXPLANATION OF SCORE RATE
The SCORE RATE Leaderboard works by logging the total gaming time and total score of each wallet address across all game sessions during the competition week.
The total score is then divided by the total game time (in seconds) and multiplied by 60. This yields a score rate per minute which is rounded to 2 decimal places.
Please note that a minimum total game time of 300s (5min) is required in order to qualify.
